David Duffy, CPA
Managing Member

Few executives in financial and tax services can bring to the table the diverse management experience that David Duffy can.  He understands the challenges of running small businesses and the complex issues that often confront large-scale entities, because he has the first-hand knowledge from working with many of them.

The path to becoming the Managing Member of David Duffy, CPA, PLLC in 2002 has been long and rewarding one.  It includes serving as Adjunct Professor at Baker College teaching a wide range of tax courses; overseeing administration and personnel management for a 450-person commercial property development firm; handling the Controller function for a photographic laboratory; and performing a wide range of audits for clients of Arthur Anderson and Co. in a variety of industries including oil & gas, wholesaling, communication services, heavy equipment leasing, paper manufacturing--some of which were SEC registrants.
David Duffy graduated with distinction from San Diego State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

Duffy credits his military training with helping shape his career with a laser-like focus.  Over an 18-year span, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Serving actively from 1972-76 and then as a member of the reserve, becoming a Commissioned Officer, achieving the rank of Captain.  In 1988 he was selected as the nation’s outstanding Marine reserve officer.

Duffy’s duties today include managing the operations and practice development of a multi-office certified public accounting firm. The firm engages in attestation services (audits, reviews and compilations), tax services (individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, estates, nonprofits and benefit plans), accounting services (bookkeeping, payroll services and data entry), and consulting services (computerization, projections, forecasts, litigation support (divorce cases) and other analytical projects). He is a member the American Institute of CPAs and the Michigan Association of CPAs, and the firm has membership in the AICPA’s Private Companies Practice Section.  David also has membership in the AICPA’s Tax Practice Section and in the West Virginia Association of CPAs.  David is licensed in the states of Michigan, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
